Two Weeks into MoP

October 9, 2012

So it’s been two weeks since the Mists of Pandaria expansion was released for Warcraft and so far I have to say I’m thoroughly enjoying it.

The tank and I haven’t had much time to mess around in the game much due to real life obligations shortly after it was released, however recently we seem to be making up for lost time. We have two toons that are 87 and my Alliance Druid is closing in on 87 as well. We have decided to pair up our girls to get the most out of our professions. The tank is already maxed on jewelry crafting and of course mining. I am close behind in tailoring, enchanting, mining and herbalism. My pally’s picking herbs skills are helping my level 85 mage, Nelana, who is resting comfortably in Dalaran while leveling her alchemy at the same time.

So far we are enjoying everything about this expansion, even though we haven’t checked it all out yet. At this moment we are currently just questing and reading everything we possibly can about the story. I have to admit I like it more than I thought I would when the expansion was announced. The graphics are gorgeous and the story flows from one area to the next smoothly.

Within the “starting” area of the Jade Forest I already felt my emotions getting pulled by the events that took place there that both factions take part in. As I’m playing both Alliance and Horde I loved seeing the difference in the starting quests and was a bit disturbed by some things that both sides did. So far the new races that are encountered are interesting, and have left me feeling conflicted.

My favorite quest so far, at least Horde side is the field report and how they capture the “White Pawn” and the love affair that takes place. It makes for a good laugh and smile. The Alliance side version of this quest was good for a chuckle but the Horde wins it for me overall in this case.

One change that was made in the game has really made the tank and I super happy.  Since we are a super small guild (we are a guild of 2) we never thought we’d be able to level our guild.  However, do to changes we have recently had our guild ding level 5 and are 50% to level 6.  This jump in guild experience is great for small guilds and it’s nice to have some of the perks that we thought we’d never have!

I know that the tank and I are nowhere near completed with our questing and our experiences and I’m very excited about that. Don’t get me wrong I do want to see the dungeons, the LFR, and heroics (LOVE SCHOLOMANCE) but we are in no hurry to get there. We are doing as the Pandas say and we are slowing down.

  1. I just hit 87 today on my Warrior, and I’m loving it as well. The quest line is pretty fun, for the most part. The new areas are fun to explore and quest in for sure.

    • Do you have a favorite quest line so far?

      • I loved the sniper quest (playing through Alliance), and just doing crazy stuff like filling in rodent holes while ‘punting’ them out of the way…lol
