So I just finished the horde side of the Theramore Event and I wanted to do a quick write up for you guys. This is a scenario and requires an item level of 363 for anyone to attempt, and you can only que for it with 3 people in your party.  You really don’t need a tank or a healer for this event, the damage was minimal even with large pulls. This contains spoilers!

To the Boats!

The horde side starts out with you needing to activate the bombs to explode on the Alliance boats, there is one explosive per boat and they have what I would call mini-bosses on each that are captains.  They don’t drop any loot.

After you charge all 6 of the bombs, you then talk to a goblin to activate them.

Moving Inland

Then you move inland to attack the Alliance army and the Gryphon Master.  The Gryphon Master is a boss and just avoid his totems and target them down and this is a super fast fight.

Tanks for Nothing

After he is down move to the left of the tower and take down a tank.  In this fight just avoid the red spots she puts on the ground and run if she targets you.  After she is done with, destroy 3 other tanks nearby and prepare to move on.

Final Count Down

The final stage involves you freeing the traitor Thalen Songweaver from the Kirin Tor, if you have read the book then you know he helped the Horde armies get into Theramore island by weakening the walls.  He is in the basement of the large building on the right side of the island.  You will need to kill Hedric Evencane upstairs to get the key to free him and then he ports you to Orgimmar after he explains to you that a huge bomb is coming to the island.  You then see a very short cinematic of the horde ships bringing the mana bomb to Theramore that then destroys it. You then receive a letter from Songweaver giving you a mana-bomb and making a joke about if it’s too soon or not.

Why This Event was Lack Luster:

I really had high hopes for this event considering I love Jaina Proudmoore and really enjoyed reading Tides of War, however Horde side, this event was terrible.  There was no story! We got no information on why we were there, on what was going on, and you saw no leaders of the races.  There was one cut scene, at the end, where the goblins laugh that there are going to turn Theramore into a sinkhole and then they drop the bomb.  As a member of the horde you didn’t get any information on what was going on and you don’t have a clue of the aftermath of the effects.  I really hope Alliance side this was better.  Honestly if I hadn’t read the book I wouldn’t have really known anything about it. I also hated the way they portrayed Blood Elves when Songweaver tells you at the end to stop by Silvermoon and say hi, this makes it seem like all the Horde was ok with this event and that just isn’t the case. You didn’t get to see anything talked about from the book other than an explosion and you are in Orgrimmar.  This was terrible, I was horribly disappointed and let down.  Please someone tell me it was better Alliance side.  Did you like the Theramore event?
